She also completed her academic journey by obtaining her doctorate in 2018 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and pursued further training in Sports Medicine and Exercise in 2022.

Following her medical studies, Dr. Sandrine Mariaux gained extensive clinical and surgical experience in various hospitals in French-speaking Switzerland, initially at the Providence and Pourtalès Hospitals in Neuchâtel, and later at CHUV. She furthered her training by completing two fellowships in globally recognized centers for shoulder surgery: at Centre Santy with Dr. Arnaud Godenèche and at the Clinique Générale d’Annecy with Drs. Laurent and Thibault Lafosse.

Upon returning to Switzerland, she worked in Dr. Georges Kohut’s team at Clinique Sainte-Anne in Fribourg. Later, she established herself as an independent physician in the Chablais region, specializing in shoulder and elbow pathologies.

In 2024, she co-founded the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Center at Clinique la Source with Dr. Paolo Fornaciari.
