Following her medical studies, Dr. Sandrine Mariaux gained extensive clinical and surgical experience in various hospitals in French-speaking Switzerland, initially at the Providence and Pourtalès Hospitals in Neuchâtel, and later at CHUV. She continued her career as an assistant chief and later as chief of the clinic at the Riviera-Chablais Hospital, and then at CHUV, where she worked in the shoulder and elbow surgery team under Prof. Farron.

In her final months at CHUV, she initiated and managed a project involving videos for patients with shoulder pathologies or those who had undergone shoulder surgery, aiming to assist them in their rehabilitation. This project was carried out in collaboration with the musculoskeletal physiotherapy service at the Orthopedic Hospital and was initiated during the Covid pandemic.

She furthered her training by completing two fellowships in globally recognized centers for shoulder surgery: at Centre Santy with Dr. Arnaud Godenèche and at the Clinique Générale d’Annecy with Drs. Laurent and Thibault Lafosse.

Upon returning to Switzerland, she worked in Dr. Georges Kohut’s team at Clinique Sainte-Anne in Fribourg. Later, she established herself as an independent physician in the Chablais region, specializing in shoulder and elbow pathologies.

In 2024, she co-founded the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Center at Clinique la Source with Dr. Paolo Fornaciari.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sandrine Mariaux has contributed to various scientific works (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Sandrine-Mariaux/publications), including a multicentric study by the SOFEC (French Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery) on rotator cuff repairs in patients ≤ 45 years.
